Burch Hager

March 15, 1958 – March 8, 2017

Burch A. Hager, 58, died Wednesday, Burch was the husband of Debbie Parks Hager, for 41 years. Daddy to Misty LeMay Hager, Joshua Todd Hager, and the late Valerie Hager Adkins; he was PaPaw to Tyler Jo, and his wife Brook Murphy, and Savannah Lillian Adkins, who were the lights of his life. Burch was superintendent of the water department for the City of Nicholasville and 5th District Magistrate of the Jessamine County Fiscal Court, since 2010. Burch was a Kentucky Colonel, President of Hickman Creek Coon Club, and a former youth baseball coach. He was a member of Bethel Christian Church, the Professional Kennel Club and the Jessamine County Parks & Recreation Hall of Fame. Burch was an avid coon hunter who loved to collect knives and buy them from E-Bay. He was a man of strong conviction and never wavered on where he stood.

Burch is survived by his mother, Mary Anna (Dandy) Hager; sister Jan(Mike) Hager; brother Johnny “Frog” (Donna) Hager; nieces Karen, Anna, Aly, Rachel, Vickie, Deana, and Chastity; nephews Vance, Aaron, Tucker, Caleb, Willie, and Jeremy; mother-in-law and father-in-law Bobby and Ann Parks; sister-in-law Teresa Walker; and special friends, Jack & Patty Cooper, and “grandson” Jacob Murphy. In addition to his daughter he was proceeded in death by his father Bob Hager; a brother and sister-in-law Terry and Brenda Hager; a niece Hope Hager; and nephews Michael Hager, Ricky Walker; and special friend Nolie Blakeman. Services will be 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Betts & West Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the House Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. on Sunday and 3 to 9 p.m. on Monday.

Bearers will be Josh, Johnny “Frog”, Vance, and Aaron Hager. Tyler Jo Murphy, Josh Teater, Adam White and Joe Morris. Honorary bearers will be Paul Miller, his nieces and nephews, Wayne Stinnett, Jerry Hall, Russ Meyer, Kevin Corman, Jeff Wilson, Corey Allender, Jeff Riester, Jan & Donna Hager, Coon Hunting buddies, the City of Nicholasville Water/Sewer Department, and members of the Jessamine County Fiscal Court.
