At the conclusion of Tuesday’s session of the Jessamine County Fiscal Court, Judge Executive David West encouraged everyone to take a few moments to see the new members of the County Road Department’s fleet.
The shiny new trucks arrived in the county last Monday, according to Road Supervisor Coleman Tudor. The trucks were ordered last August from Crossroads Ford in Frankfort and had the spreaders and blades installed prior to delivery. The two trucks cost $52,717 each.
Tudor told the Jessamine Journal that the new trucks are replacing a pair of 2001 single-axle trucks that had previously served the intended purposes. The new dual axle trucks will make their chief task–snow removal–much easier for his crew.
