THURSDAY
—Bridgepointe at Ashgrove Woods, located on 5220 Grey Oak Lane will host a book signing for “A Dignified Life” with Author Virginia Bell, Co-founder of the Best Friends Approach. The signing will occur from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 26. Hors d’oeuvres will be served.
—Jessamine County Public Library will host e-Library Help from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 26.
—Jessamine County Public Library will host Teen Playlist from 5 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 26.
—Jessamine County Public Library will host What’s Brewing Music Program: Larry Barnes from 6 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 26.
—Jessamine County Public Library will host Teen Appy Hour from 5 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 19.
—The Wilmore Family Center will host Night Owls Time! at 6:15 p.m. every Thursday. This playgroup is primarily enjoyed by families with careers and student families. It realizes many families have limited time, so each night has a talk, activity or discussion. Not only will you be hanging out, but you’ll take home something too. Donations are accepted.
—Wilmore Senior Community Center hosts a creative writing class with Carolyn Barnum every Thursday beginning at 1 p.m.
—Wilmore Senior Community Center will host a Bible Study (First John) with new Wilmore UMC Pastor D. Merricks, beginning at 10 a.m. on Thursdays.
—Wilmore TOPS (Taking Off Pounds Sensibly) weight loss support group meets Thursdays in the community room at Jessamine Village, at the end of South Maple Street in Wilmore. New members are welcome. Contact Eva Jacobs at 859-858-3456.
—Walking With Love Food Pantry at 220 Edgewood Drive is open from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. every Thursday.
FRIDAY
—Wilmore Senior Community Center will host Loren and Lee Present beginning at 1:15 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 27. Transylvania music professors Loren Tice (piano) and Lee Patrick (alto sax) return to present another themed program of music. Free and open to the public.
—Jessamine County Public Library will host Jump and Jive from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 27.
—Jessamine County Public Library will host Job Search Assistance from 10:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 27.
—Jessamine County Public Library will host Teen Coloring Hour from 5 to 6 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 27.
—Jessamine County Public Library will host a “Job Search Assistance” program on Fridays from 10:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
SATURDAY
—The Wilmore Family Center will host the Do’s and Don’ts of Domestic Violence Support at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 28. GREENHOUSE17 will present a workshop about the signs of domestic violence and what you should and shouldn’t do to help someone in a domestic violence situation.
—The Wilmore Family Center will host Couponing Basics from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 28. Mom Kelly Lord will present in a kid-friendly event with large cups of coffee, lots of sharing and question and answer time. Will cover: how to organize your coupon binder, ways to find sales, where to purchase your coupons and how to build a stockpile.
—Nicholasville United Methodist Church located at 303 West Maple Street will host Al-Anon 12-Step meetings for those troubled by another’s substance abuse or alcohol use. Al-Anon is a 12-Step program for those affected by a friend or relative’s drinking or abuse of drugs. The meetings will occur from 9 to 10 a.m. every Saturday. All are welcomed. —Yellow Wood Tutoring will host an education fair from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21 at The Family Center located on 334 E. Main Street in Wilmore.
MONDAY
—Jessamine County Public Library will host Mother Goose Storytime from 10 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 30.
—Jessamine County Public Library will host Teen Reads from 5 to 6 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 30.
—The Wilmore Family Center will host Crunch Time! at 11 a.m. every Monday. The center is located on 334 E. Main St. Families who do non-conventional practices such as breastfeeding, using cloth diapers, baby wearin and attachment parenting are welcome. The center is a judgment-free zone with lots of information and resources. Donations are accepted.
—The joint meetings of the Jessamine County Democratic Executive Committee and the Jessamine County Democratic Woman’s Club are hosted the second Monday of each month from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Fiscal Courtroom of the Jessamine County Court House. TUESDAY
—Wilmore Senior Community Center will host “Seeing Through the Eyes of an Artist” beginning at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 31. Wesley Village resident artist, Bill Tippie, will present a fascinating program on how he views subjects for his paintings according to their shapes and composition. Bonus feature: a crash course in doodling. Free and open to the public.

—Jessamine County Public Library will host Teen Craft: Geometric Tape from 7 to 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 31. Make DIY projects ranging from room decor, jewelry, snacks and more. For teens 6th through 12th grades. All supplies are provided. For January, make your own colorful geometric abstract wall art using painter’s tape on canvas.
—The Wilmore Family Center will host Preschool Time! at 9:30 a.m. every Tuesday. Families with 3 to 6-year-olds love this laid back learning playgroup with skill-based activities! Younger siblings and other children are welcome. Donations are accepted.

—The Wilmore Senior Community Center hosts scrapbooking with Sharon Campbell every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

—Jessamine County Public Library will host Silver Screen: An Affair to Remember (1957) from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 1. The movie features Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr. Drinks and popcorn provided.
—Jessamine County Public Library will host Teen Tabletop Gaming from 5 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 1.
—Jessamine County Public Library will host Ucan Create from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 1. Join us in February and create your own air plant terrarium.
—The Wilmore Family Center will host Play Time! at 10 a.m. every Wednesday. This is a playgroup for all types of caregivers, all ages of kids and all kinds of fun. Each month is a new theme for the play area. Feel free to bring friends.
—The Wilmore Family Center will host Healthy Living (Girl Scouts) at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 1. This will be the third week out of a six-week program.
—Jessamine County Public Library will host “Exercise with Ease” at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesdays. Please register.
—The Jessamine County Cooperative Extension Services will offer a Lunch N’ Learn series. On the last Wednesday of every month, a recipe will be prepared from the 2017 Food & Nutrition Calendar. In addition, participants will learn about food safety, nutrition, culinary skills and much more.
