CAL welcomes new creative minds

The newly enlarged board of directors of the Creative Art League of Jessamine County, Inc. hosted its first meeting for 2017 on Saturday, Jan. 7.

The half-day planning meeting focused on new and expanded offerings for the community in visual arts, performing arts, art education and community theater.

President and co-founder of CAL Constance Grayson said one of the biggest items discussed at the meeting was the exploration of offering more programs to more parts of the county, including the Wilmore, Highbridge, and Keen communities.

CAL is also planning a fundraising Gala in the fall.

The new board consists of Peggy Bishop, David Carlstedt, Staci Goggins, Jessica Greene, Robert L. Gullette III, Paula Hudson and Larry Prinssen, who joined former members, Constance Grayson, Stephanie Routt and Wendy Tucker.

The next meeting will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 4.
