THURSDAY

—Wilmore Senior Community Center hosts a creative-writing class with Carolyn Barnum every Thursday beginning at 1 p.m.

—Wilmore Senior Community Center will host a Bible Study (First John) with new, Wilmore UMC, Pastor D. Merricks, beginning at 10 a.m. on Thursdays.

—Wilmore TOPS (Taking Off Pounds Sensibly) weight-loss support group meets Thursdays in the community room at Jessamine Village, at the end of South Maple Street in Wilmore. New members are welcome. Contact Eva Jacobs at (859) 858-3456.

—Walking With Love Food Pantry at 220 Edgewood Drive is open from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. every Thursday.

FRIDAY

—Jessamine County Public Library will host a “Job Search Assistance” program on Friday’s from 10:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. 

—The Wilmore Senior Community Center hosts Flex Exercise with Aureol Moore every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 11 a.m.

MONDAY

—The joint meetings of the Jessamine County Democratic Executive Committee and the Jessamine County Democratic Woman’s Club are hosted the second Monday of each month from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Fiscal Courtroom of the Jessamine County Court House.  Everyone welcome! TUESDAY

—American Legion Post No. 63, Jessamine Senior Citizens Center, 111 Hoover Drive, meets at 6 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month. For more information email: dathor1@email.uky.edu.

—The Wilmore Senior Community Center hosts scrapbooking with Sharon Campbell every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

—Jessamine Piecequilters will meet on Tuesdays from 9 to 11 a.m. The group meets at Nicholasville Christian Church. Beginning and advanced quilters are welcome. For more information, call (859) 881-1854.

—Al-Anon 12 Step meets weekly on Tuesdays from 7:30 to 8:30am in the downstairs area of Nicholasville United Methodist Church, 303 West Maple Street, Nicholasville. Location/time change details coming in January 2017.

—Jessamine County Public Library will host Teen Reads from 5 to 6 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 2. There will be title suggestions, reviews and discussion for teen books.

—Jessamine County Public Library will host e-Library Help from 2 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 3. 

—Jessamine County Public Library will host a Teen Movie Night from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday Jan. 3. Come enjoy some popcorn and a fun movie for teens 6th through 12th grades. Suicide Squad, rated PG-13 will be shown on Jan. 3. 

—Jessamine County Public Library will host Exercise with Ease from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 4. 

—Jessamine County Public Library will host Silver Screen: Rear Window from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 4. Silver Screen is hosted the first Wednesday of every month to show classic movies. Alfred Hitchcock’s Rear Window will be shown on Jan. 4. 

—Jessamine County Public Library will host Teen Table Top Gaming from 5 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan 4. Grades 6th through 12th are welcome. 

—Jessamine County Public Library will host a Virtual Field Trip: Whale Watching from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 5. Join park rangers and researchers on a virtual interactive trip through Glacier Bay to learn about the endangered humpback whale. 

—Jessamine County Public Library will host e-Library Help from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 5. 

—Jessamine County Public Library will host  Tabletop Gaming from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 5. Adults only. 

—Jessamine County Public Library will host Teen Gaming Tournament: 1 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 5. For teens 6th through 12th grades. No registration required. In January, play Injustice on Xbox. Slots for the competition will be assigned on a first-come-first-served basis.

—Jessamine County Public Library will host Intro to JCPL Creative Space from 6 to 6:45 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 5.

During this class, attendees will learn about JCPL’s Creative Space. Policies and procedures of the space will be covered as well as a brief introduction to software used with the 3D printers and laser cutter. At the end of class, attendees will be given the opportunity to agree to the written policy for use of the Creative Space (juveniles must have a parent or guardian attend with them and sign the agreement) and schedule a time for the second part of the Creative Space training. —Jessamine County Public Library will host Lean and Play Children’s Discovery from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 10. This lab features hands-on stations where children ages 0 – 5 and their parent/caregiver can explore, play, and discover together.

—Jessamine County Public Library will host e-Library Help from 2 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 10. 

—Jessamine County Public Library will host Teen Anime and Manga Club from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 10.

—Jessamine County Public Library will host Meet the Artist from 6 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 10. The artwork of David Neace will be on display in our gallery from November 28 through January 15.

—Jessamine County Public Library will host Learn and Play Children’s Discovery from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 11.
