THURSDAY
—The Providence School is holding its 10th Annual “Empty Bowls” luncheon on Dec. 8 from 11am to 1pm in their cafeteria.
—Jessamine County Public Library will host Teen Appy Hour from 5 to 6 p.m. on Dec. 8. Come play with new apps in the Teen Library.
—Jessamine County Public Library is holding the Healthy Life Club from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Dec. 8. Please register.
—Wilmore Senior Community Center hosts a creative writing class with Carolyn Barnum every Thursday beginning at 1 p.m.
—Wilmore Senior Community Center will host a Bible Study (First John) with new Wilmore UMC Pastor D. Merricks, beginning at 10 a.m. on Thursdays.

FRIDAY
—Jessamine County Public Library will host a “Job Search Assistance” program on Fridays from 10:30 to 12:15 p.m. Bring in your floppy disk or CD so that we can assist you in updating your information or creating a cover letter, resume or in searching for information.
—The Wilmore Senior Community Center hosts Flex Exercise with Aureol Moore every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 11 a.m.
SATURDAY
—The third annual St. “Nich” Christmas Fest will take place on Saturday, Dec. 10 in downtown Nicholasville. Activities will include shopping at local businesses and eateries, a 5K run, music, dance, craft shows, parade and of course Santa. An old-fashioned trolley will be making its way through downtown to carry festival goers to designated spots.
—A Christmas Ball will be held from 8:30 to 11 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10 at the Wilmore Community Center at Wesley Village, 1125 N. Lexington Avenue. Come at 7:30 p.m. for a free swing dance lesson from UK Swing Dance Club. Dressy attire. Hors D’oeuvres, Door Prizes, Dancing and Live Music by the 19-piece big band The MetroGnomes. —Jessamine County Public Library will sponsor a “Writer’s Forum” from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 11. Join other writers of all genres and formats to get motivated by sharing your work and discussing your craft. Please register to receive event reminders. Refreshments provided.
MONDAY
—Jessamine County Public Library will have a Make & Take Craft: Cat and Dog on Dec. 12 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. All supplies provided. The event ends when supplies run out.
—The joint meetings of the Jessamine County Democratic Executive Committee and the Jessamine County Democratic Woman’s Club are hosted the second Monday of each month from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Fiscal Courtroom of the Jessamine County Court House. —The Salvation Army, Jessamine County Service Center, is taking applications for holiday assistance from 10 a.m. to noon, Monday through Friday this week. —The Wilmore Senior Community Center at Wesley Village will have Christmas Piano Duets and Demaray Tea at 1:30 p.m. on Dec. 14. Julie Tennent and Linda Pickerel return with more extraordinary duets to accent the Advent Season in honor of Christ’s birth. Special guests: flutists Susan Arnold and Mattie Greenhouse; narrator Dr. John Oswald. A proper English Tea with “biscuits” (cookies) will follow in memory of beloved Asbury Theological Seminarian, Dr. Donald Demaray. Free and open to the public.

—The Wilmore Senior Community Center at Wesley Village will hold a True Talent Christmas Recital at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 17. Children and youth from the True Talent Studio bring “joy to the world” with their carols and piano pieces of the season under the direction of Gwen Hensen. Free and open to the public.
