—The Hoppers Quartet will perform at 7 p.m. on Dec. 1 at Edgewood Baptist Church, located on 717 S. Main Street. Free admission, a love offering will be taken.

—Wilmore Senior Community Center hosts a creative-writing class with Carolyn Barnum every Thursday beginning at 1 p.m.

—Wilmore Senior Community Center will host a Bible Study (First John) with new Wilmore UMC Pastor D. Merricks, beginning at 10 a.m. on Thursdays.

—Wilmore TOPS (Taking Off Pounds Sensibly) weight-loss support group meets Thursdays in the community room at Jessamine Village, at the end of South Maple Street in Wilmore. New members are welcome. Contact Eva Jacobs at (859) 858-3456.

—Walking With Love Food Pantry at 220 Edgewood Drive is open from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. every Thursday.

FRIDAY

—Jessamine County Public Library will host Jump & Jive from 10:30 to 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 2 for kids 0 to 5 years old. No registration is required so attend as often as you are able.

—Jessamine County Public Library will host a Job Search Assistance workshop from 10:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 2. Bring a copy of your current work history on a flash drive or a CD and get help with your job search. 

—Wilmore Senior Community Center will have a book signing by Jackie Layton on Friday from 1:15 p.m. on Friday, December 2. The signing will feature her first, Christian romance novel, “In Focus,” which is part of a larger collection of stories called “Christmastide on Bald Head Island.” She will be available for book signings after giving her “back story” of creative writing. Free & open to the public.

—The Christmas Tree Lighting on Courthouse Lawn will begin at six p.m. on Friday, Dec. 2 in downtown Nicholasville. Enjoy refreshments, music and a visit from Santa.

—Chapel Hill Baptist Church at 619 Longview Drive, Nicholasville is celebrating a revival at 7 p.m. on Friday, December 2, 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3 and from 10 to 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Sunday Dec. 4. For more information contact Pastor Bobby Lakes 859-619-6056. Everyone welcome.

—Wilmore Senior Community Center hosts Flex Exercise with Aureol Moore every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 11 a.m.

—Jessamine County Senior Center, 111 Hoover Drive, Nicholasville, will hold a Christmas Bazaar from 9-3pm on Friday, December 2nd.  Crafts, holiday music, baked goods and other items will be for sale and on display. Admission is free. 

SATURDAY

—Child care providers looking for ways to log continuing education credits can earn 6 hours by ECE-TRIS approved training brought to you by Mary West from the National Center for Families Learning from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 3. Two different sessions on early literacy will be offered and space is limited. Registration is required. Session 1: Dialogic will be from 9 a.m. to noon. Session 2: Read Together: Reach for The Stars will be from 12:30 to 4 p.m. Lunch will be provided. No charge. Contact Rachel at JCPL with questions. Sign-ins 15 mins prior to class beginning.

—Dixie Cafe & Quick Stop at 108 Keene-South Elkhorn Road, Keene presents “A Christmas Open House” serving complimentary homemade cookies and hot apple cider all day. Come browse and buy products and services from local artisans and vendors. Hourly demonstrations and door prize drawings from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3. 

— A Christmas Holiday Market will be hosted at Mt. Freedom Baptist Church on 100 S. Lexington Avenue in Wilmore from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3.

—The Wilmore Farmers Market is taking place Saturdays at the city hall parking lot in downtown Wilmore. Hours are 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Find the Wilmore Farmers Market page on Facebook for more information.

Sunday

—Jessamine County Public Library will host Day of Holiday Cheer from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 4. The library will serve juice boxes and free animal crackers until supplies run out. Come meet Santa Claus and enjoy live music. Everyone is invited to search the library for hidden elves. Find them all and get entered to win a basket of family holiday goodies and stories.

MONDAY

—Wilmore Senior Community Center will host Christmas with the UK Tubas & Euphoniums at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, December 5. Come and enjoy music of the season performed by this ensemble of the largest brass instruments under the direction of Dr. Skip Gray. Free & open to the public.

—The joint meetings of the Jessamine County Democratic Executive Committee and the Jessamine County Democratic Woman’s Club are hosted the second Monday of each month from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Fiscal Courtroom of the Jessamine County Court House.  Everyone welcome! —The Salvation Army, Jessamine County Service Center, is taking applications for holiday assistance  from 10 a.m. to noon, Monday through Friday this week. The applications include Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner, as well as the Angel Tree Program for children. Applications can be found at 205 South First Street in Nicholasville. TUESDAY 

—The Chamber of Commerce Christmas Open House will occur from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 6 at 116 S. Main Street. 

—Jessamine County Public Library will host an “Easy Crochet Hat” class from 1 to 3 p.m. on December 6.  No registration required.

—Jessamine County Public Library will host a Teen Coding Club from 5 to 6 p.m. on Dec. 6 to teach computer coding. Grades 6-12th. Please register.

—A Community Theatrical Workshop for 2nd through 8th graders will be hosted from 4:30 to 5:45 p.m. at the Jessamine County Public Library on these dates: Dec. 6 and Dec. 13. —Jessamine County Public Library hosts Munch & Mingle from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Dec. 7.

—Jessamine County Public Library will be playing “The Bells of St. Mary’s” starring Bing Crosby and Ingrid Bergman from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 7. A classic movie is shown on the first Wednesday of each month with free popcorn and drinks. No need to register.
