A big screen goodbye to actor Gene Wilder
The late actor Gene Wilder will grace the big screen in a Nicholasville theatre one last time as a tribute to his career.
Movie Tavern honored the memory of Wilder by showing the classic 1971 film “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” on Wednesday. It will be shown again today.
Tickets can be purchased on the theater’s website for $5.
Wilder, 83, died Monday due to complications from Alzheimer’s disease.
This is not the first time a well known actor’s death sparked a movie comeback at Movie Tavern. “Purple Rain” returned to theaters after Prince’s death earlier this year.
