Jessamine student named to Youth Salute

Home school student named to Youth Salute

One Jessamine County home school student was among hundreds of high schools in Central Kentucky recognized in this year’s “Youth Salute.”

Students were nominated by teachers, guidance counselors and principals for this year’s Youth Salute.

To qualify, the student had to be a junior (senior class of 2021), have a 3.0 GPA or better and have held at least two  leadership roles to which they were chosen by their peers or an adult leader within the past two years in school, religious or community sponsored organizations.

This is the final student feature.

Simeon Klepac

Simeon is event coordinator for the St. Andrews Orthodox Church youth group, a member of the church choir and a camp coach at the Society of Orthodox Youth organizations/Special Olympics. He is a certified instructor in U.S. Goodwill tang soo do and holds a second degree black belt. He is a member of the Bluegrass United yearbook committee and the Bluegrass United performing arts company. He is a participant in the Sacred Music Institute and volunteers at Thompson-Hood Veterans Center.

He is interested in studying education, music, environmental studies, history or cultural studies in college and homes to pursue a career as a national park ranger.
