The Jessamine County Public Library (JCPL) is once again hosting Comic Surge on Saturday, Oct. 12 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Comic Surge combines all the elements of a larger comic con with the welcoming, thoughtful
atmosphere of a public library. There will be vendor and artist booths, a professionally judged costume contest, cosplayers and costumed characters, live performances, life-sized dragons, and more. Visit https://www.jesspublib.org/jcpl-comicsurge/ for more information.
“We are so excited to be hosting this epic event for our 8 th year now”, said Kate Irwin, programming coordinator of special events at JCPL. “This is a unique way to unite fans and enthusiasts across our community. Each year, we offer something new and unexpected – while maintaining our fun and family friendly environment. The creativity from our vendors and participants is always memorable.”
Some of the featured activities this year include: a Smash Brothers tournament, VR headset demos, Scottish games, a LEGO building challenge, skits, and dragon meet and greets. Some of the featured characters include Glinda and Elphaba from “Wicked”, Daenerys Targaryen, Zelda and Link, Moana, Batman and Captain Jack Sparrow.
