At its regular meeting on August 26, 2024, the Jessamine County Board of Education discussed and set the real estate tax rate for the 2025 fiscal year at 67.8 cents per $100 of assessed property value, lowering it from the 2024 rate of 68.6 cents per $100 of assessed property value.
“This decision balances our commitment to providing high-quality education with the responsibility of managing our district’s resources effectively. We understand the impact of taxes on our community, and we are dedicated to ensuring that every dollar supports the success of our students,” read a statement from the Board of Education.
According to Kentucky Revised Statutes (KRS) 160.470, a local board of education can adopt a tax rate up to and including a 4 percent revenue increase without the need for advertising or holding a public hearing.
