This is the week that was for Asbury Athletics.

Men’s Golf

April 4 – João Costa and Austin Dunlap finished in the top five, while Maddie Heineman tied for second on Tuesday afternoon in the Berea College Invite at Boone’s Trace Golf Club in Richmond.

The Asbury men’s golf finished second overall in the tournament.

“It was a great couple of days for our team to be able to play the game of golf. We definitely saw some highlights but plan to continue to improve throughout the spring as we look toward our next competition,” said Head Asbury Golf Coach Scott Ferguson

Baseball

April 8 – The Eagles secured a doubleheader victory on Saturday, making their matchup against UC-Clermont their eleventh straight win. AU moved to 17-10 on the year and took on Berea College at home on April 11.

Softball

April 4 – Asbury fell to Oakland City 11-7 on Tuesday in game one despite a late offensive push. Heading into the day’s second game, the Eagles maintained momentum and took the 5-4 win against their long-time opponents. AU recorded 18 hits, 12 RBIs, and 12 runs on the day.

April 6 – Asbury softball traveled to Cincinnati to face Mount St. Joseph University in a doubleheader on Thursday evening. Despite hits from Taylor Enlow, Taylor Sanders, and Abigail Fletcher in game one, they fell to the Lions 5-1. The Eagles were hopeful for a win in the second game of the day with a homer from Enlow, but they could bit find their footing, resulting in a 9-1 loss. Asbury softball moved to a 7-21 on the season.

Men’s Tennis

April 6 – For only the third time this season, Asbury men’s tennis (8-3) came out on the losing end. Gregorio Ingles and Alejandro Caceres took the No. 1 doubles match. Still, AU lost in the No. 2 match and then won in a tiebreak over Alejo Britos and Ignacio Ardiles in the No. 3 match. For the first time all season, Asbury has dropped back-to-back matches.
