The voters of Jessamine County have spoken, and here are some notable results from Tuesday night.

Nicholasville City Commissioners Patty Teater and Bethany Davis Brown won reelection to the city’s legislative body. They will be joined by current Mayor Peter Sutherland (14.98 %) and Charles “Dexter” Knight (16.23%) when the new term begins.

Andy Bathje, Jim Brumfield, Kim Deyer, Leonard Fitch, and David Riel won reelection to the Wilmore City Council. They will be joined by newcomer Wesley Metcalfe.

Hunter Daugherty defeated John Reynolds in the night’s only competitive judicial race for the 1st division seat in the 13th Judicial Circuit.

State Senator Donald Douglas (R) easily carried Jessamine County and the rest of the 22nd Senatorial District over challenger Chuck Eddy (D).

State Rep. Matt Lockett (R) of the 39th House District defeated Gwendolyn Mitchell (D) in the county and districtwide to win another term in office.

State Rep. Dan Fister (R) won the majority of the votes over Grayson Vandegrift (D) in Jessamine County and held a large lead as of this writing in the 56th House District.

Steven Scrivner won reelection over Brandon Wides in the 5th District election for a seat on the Jessamine County Board of Education.
