BK9T: Average Paw’s competition for the Average Dog to be held in Wilmore

Benson K-9 Training is hosting a BK9T: Average Paw’s competition for the average dog.

The competition will be held in Wilmore at the Dan Glass Pavilion from 12-6 p.m. on Aug. 13. Dogs one year and older have a $10 competition fee, and dogs under one year have a $5 competition fee.

The competing dogs one year and older will have the chance to compete in different events, such as an agility course, distant frisbee, an obedience challenge, a freestyle event, the fastest K-9 in town, and a best-looking K-9 contest.

The dogs under one year will have the chance to compete in an agility course, an obedience challenge, a freestyle event, the fastest pup in-town event, and the cutest puppy contest.

The competition will have activities for kids, such as a pitbull challenge, food, vendors, and dog competition events. There will also be a  audience question and answer session with K-9 trainer Mike Benson. The Garrard County animal shelter will be in attendance as well.

The competition is free to come and watch.
