The Jessamine County Fiscal Court held a meeting on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 and took action on important items such as new hires, roadblocks, pay estimates, and funding for new detention center programs.

The Jessamine County Sheriff’s Office requested a temporary road closure for the upcoming Barbasol Championship. The roadblock will be in front of the clubhouse on the Avenue of Champions. The roadblock will not block any residents from EMS or fire services, and the residents have been notified of it. The city has done this for the PGA tournament in previous years.

The Lock 7 Boat Ramp has lease that the court voted to extend to the end of this year. The lease is $5,000 for and will be reimbursed by the Kentucky River Authorities.

The Jessamine County Attorney’s lease agreement was approved by the court. The office receives reimbursement for a portion of the rent. The county attorney also presented a check that has been sent to the treasurer. The check was turnover from the county attorney.

The Jessamine County Judicial Facility demolition is estimated to cost around $270,000. The court approved additional money to go towards the demolition that is reimbursable if not put towards the demolition. There are plans to rebuild a Judicial Facility in the future, and the demolition does not have a set date yet. The demolition plans have been in the works for around a month after Jessamine County was chosen to have a new Judicial Facility.

The Paddock has received a temporary easement by the subdivision entrance. The subdivision entrance is a common place for wrecks. Left and right turn lanes will be added, and $3,000 will be given to the homeowner’s association for the costs of replacing the landscaping.

The 3.26 Ordinance was updated and had a second reading. The ordinance involves an update of commercial zones to make them more uniform. There was also an update to the 3.224 Ordinance, which adds a note to a plaque stating you can’t individually subdivide residual farmland. It was previously in the ordinance, this update adds it to a plaque.

The Jessamine County Detention Center was approved for funding that will go towards a compliance program for behavior modification, as well as a final estimate for pay at the detention center.

Robbie Fain was appointed to join the fire board. There were several new EMS hires that were approved as well. The fiscal court received a request for funeral assistance, and it was approved. There was also a cash transfer from general to jail and general to the ambulance fund for payroll, it was paid and authorized.
