Fiscal court approves purchase of new election printers

The Jessamine County Fiscal Court approved election printer requests, grant awards, and budget amendments at its latest meeting Tuesday.

The court approved a request for additional election printers to ease the election process in Jessamine County. Ten printers were approved, and the printers will be allocated to locations with more traffic on election days. All locations currently have printers, but the additional printers will allegedly smooth the voting process on election days. The court also approved an election postage reimbursement payment.

A budget amendment had its first reading The amendment involves a tax that the city pays for Medicaid patients, that is then reimbursed back to the city by Medicare.

Two grants were approved for High Bridge for the fire house and the boat ramp. The fire house received $6,000 in grants for repairs. The boat ramp received $50,000 in grants for the establishment or improvement of boat ramps.

The court also approved the adoption of the Jessamine County Compensation Study as a guide for payment. Right now the document is a working draft, but it will soon be released to public.

A bid for dead animal removal was given to the company that currently holds that position, LACKY, or the Large Animal Composting of Kentucky.
