The Jessamine County Public Library is taking all sorts of submissions for the Pandemic Stories Project. They are accepting videos, written stories, photographs, and other media forms all based on the public’s experience during the COVID-19 pandemic. These stories will create a historic archive of the pandemic from the perspective of those in Jessamine County.

“After two long years of separation from one another due to COVID-19, Jessamine County Public Library aimed to introduce new programs focusing on community-building and togetherness, including the Pandemic Stories Project”, Kimber Gray, the JCPL Marketing and PR Coordinator, said in an email.

There are several ways to submit a story, in person, using an online form, or by emailing Les Lehman at llehman@jesspublib.org to make an appointment to have the story recorded. Submissions are being accepted from May 15 to August 31.

“During the pandemic, we may not have shared day-to-day life with each other. Still, we experienced the difficulties of the unknown, the unpredictable, and the unexpected together.

Now, we can tell our stories together”, Gray said.
