Nicholasville Police has hired some top law officers.

Sworn-in last week were (R-l) Lucas Shelton, Paul Zhurbich, Joseph Johnson and Daniel Brown.

These new officers join one of the region’s top police departments in a city that has a new state of the art police headquarters that cost around $7.5 million to build that will open this month. Located at 717 N. Main St., the new police station will be about 25,000 square feet.

In recent months, Officer Ryan Wilkerson joined  NPD and Lieutenant Alexus Jones recently completed the Department of Criminal Justice Training’s Criminal Justice Executive Development course.

Nicholasville Police Department is still hiring lateral officers. The starting pay is $22.16 per hour or $50,702 annually.

Officers work 12-hour shifts with built-in overtime.
