Mrs. Waulene Winston Lucas
Mrs. Waulene Winston Lucas, age 97, of Madison, Indiana, entered this life on October 12, 1924 in Rogersville, Alabama. She was the loving daughter of the late Ruble Moss and Effie Ophelia Grigsby Winston. She was raised in Jasper, Tennesse and graduated high school there. She was united in marriage to Buddy Brumfield. She later married Donald Lucas. Waulene resided most of her married life in Nicholasville, Kentucky. She worked at Southerland Chevrolet in Nicholasville as an office administrator and retired after several years. Waulene was an avid University of Kentucky basketball fan. She loved gardening and spending time and cooking for her family. She moved to Madison 5 years ago to be closer to her nephews. Waulene died on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at 2:05 p.m. at the Jewel Place in Madison, Indiana.
A LOVING FAMILY
Waulene will be missed by her loving sister, Peggy Clark of Memphis, Indiana; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her father, Ruble Moss Winston, Sr., died April 28, 1993, her mother, Effie Ophelia Grigsby Winston, died June 16, 1987, her brother, Ruble Moss Winston, Jr. died January 6, 2010, her first husband, Buddy Brumfield, her second husband, Donald Lucas, and her companion of several years, Preston Kennedy.
WAULENE’S WISHES
Waulene’s wishes were to be cremated with a burial at Springhill Cemetery, Harrodsburg, Kentucky with times to be announced.
