Two people died in separate traffic incidents in Nicholasville recently.

The first happened early Sunday morning, according to Nicholasville Police Department.

According to reports, a pedestrian was struck and killed on US 27 at the intersection of Edgewood Drive.

In a separate incident, the driver of a Nissan Sentra died of their injuries after being involved in a collision on Tuesday.

According to police, at about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, emergency services units were called to the area near North Main Street and Duncan Street in reference to an injury collision.

A Nissan Sentra crossed over the center line and into oncoming traffic. It struck a dump truck, which then struck a utility pole.

Initially, the Nissan driver’s injuries appeared to be non-life threatening, police said.

“We received word from the hospital that the driver of the Nissan had suffered internal injuries and has since passed away at the hospital,” the agency posted on Facebook Tuesday afternoon.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating both collisions. No further information was available at press time.
