Randy Olson, 67, husband of Debbie M. Olson, of Bethel Road, Nicholasville, passed away January 21, 2022, at his home. Randy was born in Cando, North Dakota, on September 10, 1954, to Selmer Bud and the late Darlene Marie Buskirk Olson. He was a retired Meter Reader for the City of Nicholasville and a retired Line Technician for GTE. Randy was a Deacon, Trustee, and Treasurer of the Bethel Christian Church and was a breeder and owner of thoroughbred horses and bird dogs. Randy is survived by his wife, Debbie, a daughter, Randi (Shawn) Kestel, two sisters, Pat (Tim) Lush and Pam (Ron) Mingua, two grandchildren, Jenna Conn and Ali Kestel, and a nephew, T.J. Lush. Besides his mother, Darlene, he was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Floyd and Genevieve Buskirk, and Father and Mothers-in-law, Russell and Evelyn Marshall. Services will be 1:00 PM Thursday, January 27, 2022, at Betts & West Funeral Home with Bro. Bill Bales and Bro. Mickey Stinnett officiating. Interment to follow in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. Bearers will be Harold Clem, Greg Murphy, Chuck Sexton, Tom Perry, Shawn Kestel, and Tim Lush. Honorary bearers will be the Elders and Deacons of Bethel Christian Church. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-8 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Bluegrass Care Navigators or Bethel Christian Church.
