In place of church services on Sunday, Oct. 11, Bethel Harvest Church in Nicholasville used the day to clean up neighborhoods, serve food, shared testimonies, thanked local firefighters, and helped the homeless throughout Jessamine and neighboring counties.

It was the church’s second “For the City” event, which saw volunteers splitting up into groups and visiting not only Jessamine but Fayette and Franklin counties as well.

In Lexington, Bethel Harvest assisted nursing homes, distributed backpacks for the homeless at Lighthouse Ministries, took part in community outreach at the Bryan Station Inn.

Also in Lexington, as well as in Nicholasville, volunteers stopped by fires stations to deliver “thank you” gifts.
