William Gene Welch, 59, husband of Sheila Combs Welch, died Friday, September 24, 2021, at Baptist Health Lexington. He was born in Lexington, Kentucky to Brenda Ann Davis Welch and the late Clayton Eugene Welch. He was the owner of Jessamine Freight Handling. Survivors include a son, Billy Gene Welch (Kennedy) and two daughters, Amy Nicole Welch, and Leondra Jane Hager, six grandchildren Kinley Mae Welch, Jonathan Hager, Chelsea Wilburn, Sierra Wilburn, Trent Wilburn and Grant Wilburn, brother Stevie Clay Welch and a sister, Debbie Ann Welch. Funeral service will be conducted at 10 AM Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Betts & West Funeral Home with Pastor David Marsee officiating. Burial will follow in the Welch Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Friday at the funeral home. Casket bearers will be Jeff Underwood, Josh McIntosh, Donnie Wilburn, Jeff Watts, Steven Welch, J.L.
