Willmore’s own Asbury Univisity is offering enrollment for Lexington Christian Academy students at the same tuition rate. Backdated to May of this year and proceeding forward, LCA graduates are eligible for a renewable, tuition match for the same rate as their current 12th-grade tuition. This partnership was signed on Sept. 9 and will provide LCA students the option to participate in dual-credit courses offered in class, online and at Asbury’s campus.

“We have talked with LCA for a couple years now about what a partnership between us would look like,” said Kevin Brown, president of Asbury University. “We signed an agreement that achieves several things to make higher education more affordable. Dual credit opportunities help students finish their bachelor’s program in a more timely fashion, and it’s an enrichment to the curriculum they’re already taking. LCA students will be able to attend Asbury with a tuition-rate no higher than rate senior year at LCA.”

Asbury’s stated tuition is approximately $31,000, according to Brown. With this partnership, LCA students’ will have access to a tuition rate of around $12,800. Both schools offer education in a Christ-centered environment. It’s through this commonality that the partnership came to fruition, according to Scott Wells, head of LCA.

“We have a shared mission of equipping and nurturing students in a way that’s spiritually aligned,” said Wells. “Many teachers and staff are Asbury grads, myself included.”

Wells explained that LCA teachers are trained to include a biblical world view throughout their teachings, making sure to integrate scripture seamlessly when possible. He says with this technique LCA can educate the “whole student.”

“Standard education, intellectually is great. But education often neglects the spiritual part of a person. Our goal is to nurture students both intellectually and spiritually.

LCA graduates who have already started another college will continue to have their LCA tuition rate honored if they transfer to Asbury. For more information on the program, contact Asbury University at (859) 858-3511, or LCA at (859) 422-5700

“We are excited to partner with Asbury University to expand a variety of opportunities for our students and faculty,” said Wells. “Working together, our students will be nurtured and equipped to fulfill God’s calling on their lives through Christ-centered education.”
