Stacey Lynn Tackett, 49, passed away on Sept. 4, 2021, surrounded by loved ones at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, Maryland. Stacey was born in Flint, Michigan, on Dec. 19, 1971, to Karen Bates and bonus dad Michael Sherrard. She grew up in Nicholasville, Kentucky, where she graduated from Jessamine County High School in 1989. She moved to Lexington as an adult where she pursued nursing. She was a nurse for over 20 years and worked at the Pain Treatment Center in Lexington for 16 years. Stacey was married to the late Jerod Clay Tackett for 13 years. She is survived by two children: Alicia(Kevin) Holmes and Dalton Clay Tackett; sister, Dawn(Troy) Hager of Nicholasville; grandsons Hunter and Easton, and bonus grandson Nolan, all of Maryland; several nieces and a nephew; lifelong best friend Barb(Dave) Milosch of Georgetown; and many friends from her nursing career who were like family that she loved dearly. Despite her long battle with ALS, Stacey was determined to live the best life she could for her children and her grandchildren, and that is exactly what she did. Stacey was kind and compassionate, and was always lending a helping hand to those in need. Stacey was preceded in death by her husband, Jerod Tackett, and her father, Michael Sherrard. Stacey is being cremated, so a memorial service and burial of her ashes will be held in the future. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to ALS Therapy Development Institute, and advocating for stem cell approval for the ALS communities.
