Stephanie Brown Bastin of Nicholasville, a native of Bardstown, passed away in the early morning hours of May 1, 2021, at her home. She was surrounded by her closest family at the time of her death.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Brown and Ann Lee Brown, of Bardstown, and her brother, Jim Brown, of Lexington. She is survived by her devoted husband of 40 years, Rickey Bastin, of Nicholasville, of whom she was a loving, supportive, and caring wife. She is further survived by her son, Matthew Bastin (Bekah), of Louisville, her daughter Katie Knight (J.D.), of Harrodsburg, and her beautiful granddaughter, Ellie Mae Knight. Furthermore, she is also survived by her two brothers, Billy Brown (Paula) and Mike Brown (Lisa), and her two sisters, Patty Buzick (Cliff) and Kathy Downs (Charlie), of Bardstown. She was also survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews.

Stephanie served 37 years in law enforcement, achieving the highest rank of Chief, and earning the prestigious Kentucky Police Chief of the Year award in 2010. Visitation for Stephanie will occur at 10 a.m., with services to follow at 12 p.m., on Thursday, May 6, 2021, at Clark Legacy Center, 601 East Brannon Road in Nicholasville.
