COVID has claimed lives of 24 at veterans home
At a time when the coronavirus is growing at an exponential rate in Kentucky, the outbreak at the Thomson-Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore seems to be slowing.
On Monday, there was only one new case reported, involving an employee. But there were 123 active cases reported on the Cabinet for Families and Children’s COVID-19 website, cfhs.ky.gov/dph/19 involving staff and residents, and two more residents have died of the disease in the past couple of weeks, bringing the total to 24.
There have been 158 residents and employees who have contracted the virus at the nursing home since March, and 123 have recovered.
