St. Nich Parade canceled because of virus
Because of the recent rise in coronavirus cases, and in response to the governor’s recommendations, there will be no St. Nich Parade this Christmas season.
The Jessamine County Chamber of Commerce made the announcement Tuesday on its Facebook page.
“We know how sad that is and how much we love seeing all the floats and entries in twinkling lights,” the message said.
However, the chamber mentioned that it was going to have a Christmas Decorating Challenge instead. It is asking that businesses, homeowners and all the community “decorate extra special this year to spread the fun and joy of the Christmas season.”
Applications and rules will be forthcoming.
