Through its new Business Inspirations program, Inspired VDL Inc. of Nicholasville is expanding assistance opportunities for business individuals and organizations who have gaps between where they are currently and where they want to be.

The Jessamine County Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new program July 31 at Inspired VDL’s offices at 109 Shannon Parkway.

Joyce Bruner and Rick Loghry run the organization.

Their other board member, Charity Reed, is on maternity leave.

The nonprofit, whose abbreviation stands for Vision Driven Learning, offers a variety of services including mentoring at-risk schoolchildren, counseling single parents who are struggling to make ends meet and helping retirees who feel they have lost their sense of purpose.

Business Inspirations, Inspired VDL’s newest initiative, has facilitators who work with clients in their unique environments on what they wish to accomplish.

Inspired VDL Inc. applies a five-step method:

1. Define the desired change.

2. Identify work environment values and approaches.

3. Take a good look in the mirror at the organization’s strengths and opportunities to improve.

4. Plan and prepare for change.

5. Implement changes.

For those wondering whether Business Inspirations is for them, Inspired VDL Inc.’s website, www.inspiredvdl.org, identifies six questions for a potential client to answer, three considerations to ponder, three key pieces of information a client would confidentially share to start a discussion and an explanation of how the cost of working with Inspired VDL Inc. is individually determined by each client.

Loghry, a Business Inspirations facilitator, said, “The key to implementing change using our approach is interactive discussion to address the ‘what if’ aspects of making any decision. We love to help people think through and accomplish things they didn’t think possible.”

Inspired VDL Inc. schedules discussions by appointment only.

Its website provides additional details, complete contact information and the first step to get started.
