Head start enrollment open

Enrollment is now open for 3- and 4-year-old students in Head Start. To register or learn more, call Jessamine County 5 Start Head Start at 859-858-2585. Head Start programs offer families access to help with mortgage or rent, disability services, education assistance, emergency services, food, PPE, transportation, free resources for children, financial coaching and virtual and online learning.

 

Myron Jackson inducted into Alpha Lambda Delta at UK

The University of Kentucky’s Alpha Lambda Delta inducted 51 College of Arts and Sciences students during the spring 2020 semester. Among them was Myron Jackson of Nicholasville, with a major in neuroscience.

The induction ceremony, originally scheduled for March, was cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Celebrating academic excellence among first-year students, Alpha Lambda Delta was revived on UK’s campus in 2019 after being dormant for several years. Alpha Lambda Delta has more than 280 chapters nationally, and the society has initiated more than 1 million students.

UK’s Alpha Lambda Delta chapter is supported by the Chellgren Center for Undergraduate Excellence and the Office of Nationally Competitive Awards in the Division of Student and Academic Life.
