Nicholasville Police Sgt. Kevin Grimes said there was a physical altercation outside the apartments late Friday night.

“We’re still looking into it,” Grimes said Monday afternoon. “We know it was outside an apartment. They were outside fighting.”

Grimes said the victim died in Lexington following the incident. The Fayette County Coroner’s Office has not released any information on the victim either.

Grimes said they were waiting on information from the medical examiner’s office concerning the cause of death for the victim.

The death is the first homicide in Nicholasville in a couple of years, he said.

Overstreet is being held in the Jessamine County Detention Center on a $100,000 cash bond.
