Assault charge filed for spanking, bruising

A Nicholasville woman was charged with misdemeanor assault after reportedly spanking a person with mental disabilities and leaving bruises.

According to Nicholasville Police, officers were called to a residence at 132 Shelby Way on Jan. 27. The suspect, 41-year-old Laura B. Fields, told officers the victim repeatedly took his pants off in front of her. Each time, she said she spanked the person, who then cried. Fields said it happened about five times. The victim had “significant bruising” to the left bottom and hip.

The victim was not able to communicate, officers said.

Fields was charged with fourth-degree assault.
