KORT athletic trainers Megan Edwards, Kelsey Lang and Joey Sarver will work closely with Asbury team physician, Dr. David Dome with the Lexington Clinic, and KORT physical therapists to provide injury prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation.

“We want to make sure our student athletes receive immediate care and have access to the best medical staff which is why we’ve chosen to partner with KORT. They have a great reputation of working with student athletes not only treating injuries but working to prevent them,” said Asbury Athletic Director Mark Whitworth.

KORT provides board-certified athletic trainers to more than 45 high schools and colleges in Kentucky and Southern Indiana making it the largest sports medicine provider in the region.

“KORT’s athletic trainers advocate for the health and safety of all athletes,” according to a press release issued this week. “Working directly with the athlete and collaborating with parents, coaches and other health care providers, KORT trainers ensure athletes receive the most up-to-date, evidence-based treatment.”

Asbury’s student athletes will receive treatment bon campus and at two Jessamine County KORT clinics — one in Nicholasville and the other at Brannon Crossing.

KORT’s team of physical therapists will provide advanced orthopedic care using a hands-on approach including manual therapy, myofascial dry needling and prescriptive and functional exercises.

KORT will provide treatment programs for ACL prevention and post-operative rehabilitation, concussion and dizziness treatment and rehabilitation of the overhead athlete, all with the goal to help student athletes regain full function and return to their sport safely.
