Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

The 2020 legislative session is finally underway, and I am excited to kick off what I am sure will be an eventful next few months.

Many of you have had questions regarding how to best contact me.

I always want to invite your input and thought it might be helpful if I share a little bit of information about how to keep up with the General Assembly and, of course, how to reach me during session.

The first way to receive updates from me is by reading this weekly column published in the local papers.

In this column, I will aim to talk about relevant issues that have come before the General Assembly.

I tailor each column to the prior week’s proceedings and always try to ensure I relay my thoughts on any major of piece of legislation that makes it way to my desk.

These columns are an opportunity for me to communicate with the community as a whole.

You can also listen to my legislative update with Radio Rick Schoebel on WHBN.  You can tune in to stations 99.5 FM or 1420 AM on Monday and Friday mornings at 8:50 a.m. to catch the broadcast. You can also livestream the radio update on HometownLive.net.

I typically talk about timely events happening in Frankfort, and the issues that have come before the committees I serve on.

You can always get in contact with me through the LRC message Line by calling 1-800-372-7181.

I am very busy throughout session days and many times I am away from my desk or office. I can’t always be by the phone to speak with constituents, or respond to questions regarding the legislative process.

To help alleviate that issue, the Legislative Research Commission employs individuals who operate a call center throughout the year. The call center’s role is to take messages from constituents across the Commonwealth who call in. They write down everything you say, and that information is then relayed to me so I can understand your views.

If I did not mention a specific bill of interest to you in my legislative column or on the radio broadcast, you can always track legislation through Bill Watch.

Bill Watch is a free service offered through the Kentucky.gov website that allows users unlimited tracking of legislation during the legislative session. You can create a profile, and receive email notification when new bills or bills of interest move through the committee process.

Lastly, I would invite you to friend me on Facebook or find me on twitter @KimberlyKingGOP. I post regularly, and enjoy interacting with constituents and community members on social media.

I have gotten great feedback on legislation and issues of importance through my pages. I know many of you use social media to stay informed, and I hope you will follow me as I work for you in Frankfort.

By sharing your thoughts with me, you help inform my decision making process as I consider legislation I will vote on.

Your views and perspectives are important to me, and I want to ensure I am doing my best to represent you in Frankfort. So please, continue making those calls, leaving comments on my Facebook page, and sharing your thoughts.

I sincerely want to hear what you think. I look forward to continuing to update you as the 2020 session progresses.
