The Lees moved to Jessamine County in August. Andrew is the high school and college pastor at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Lexington, and Amberly is a homemaker.

The couple was surprised and excited to have the first baby of the new year born at St. Joseph East, especially since Lincoln made an unexpected early arrival.

“We were super excited,” Amberly said. “We had initially planned to have a C-section Jan. 2. But my water broke New Year’s morning. He came a day early, so we thought it was pretty cool he was the first baby born in the new year. It was cool how he made his surprise entrance.”

The Lees have been home for nearly a week, and Amberly said things are going well.

“We’ve been adjusting to being a family of five, and being outnumbered by children now,” she said. “Lincoln is a super sweet baby. He’s really good. We’re taking it easy and resting.”

She said Lincoln’s siblings have also embraced their new family member.

“His siblings are so in love with him,” she said. “We’ve been so amazed at how they’ve been bonding. They help with feedings and just want to love on their brother.”

The family was given a gift basket full of supplies and other freebies to celebrate Lincoln’s special designation.

“It was a huge surprise and very sweet of them to give,” Amberly said.
