ScatterJOY gives out awards to community leaders

On Sunday, Dec. 8, ScatterJOY, Inc. sponsored a “Salute to Leaders” luncheon to honor and thank 23 community leaders for being committed to Christ-like servant leadership. Wally and Barbara Rendel hosted the luncheon at Jessamine Christian Church.
ScatterJOY is a non-profit ministry started by Barbara Rendel in 2012 and is based in Nicholasville.  Many, many families have reaped the benefits of this ministry.
ScatterJOY chose this event, “Salute to Leaders,” as a way to honor 23 community leaders in Jessamine County.  Those honored include:
Cathy Weaver, who has served as the Extension Agent for 15 years in Jessamine County.  She is a dedicated Christian who also leads a small group of teens at Southland Christian Church.
Kim King, Kentucky State Representative of the 55th District at the Kentucky Assembly.  Kim is a dedicated Christian & active at Carpenter’s Christian Church.
Pete Sutherland, Nicholasville Mayor. Sutherland studied at the University of Kentucky. He has worked as a realtor and is currently the sales manager at Quantrell Auto Group.
Ronda May, formerly the director of development at All God’s Children, May is currently the executive director of the Jessamine County Chamber of Commerce.
Matt Moore , superintendent of Jessamine County Schools. Moore has been a part of JCS for 27 year.
Val Gallutia, who has served in various education positions in Jessamine County since 1989.  Val is a dedicated servant-leader and served Jessamine County as the deputy superintendent at JCS since September 2017.
Rod and Lori Long, who own two Chick-fil-A fanchises located off Hamburg and Richmond Road.
Karen Venis, who serves as the CEO of Sayre Christian Village.  Sayre is the only non-profit skilled nursing facility in Fayette County and is a ministry that provides hope, housing and healthcare to older adults in the name of Jesus Christ.
Wayne Hayden, vice president with The Hayden Company headquartered in Nicholasville.
Ronda Webber, after graduation from Kalamazoo College and the University of Louisville, Ronda served in several positions, and currently serves as the executive director and CEO of Assurance for Life.
Ruby Mason, a local realtor who currently serves as the president of the local Rotary Club in Nicholasville.
Harold Rainwater, Mayor of Wilmore for 43 ½ years and a life-long resident of Jessamine County.  He has taught at Asbury and is the director of the Asbury Equine Center.
Beatrice Preston, known to us as B.J. has served as a nurse for 19 years with St. Joseph Hospital.  The last four years have been with St. Joseph Heart Institute.
Kevin Corman, Jessamine County Sheriff.  He started serving in 1986 as a deputy and became the high sheriff in 2006.  Kevin serves on the board of the Kentucky Sheriff Association and is past president.
David West, Jessamine County Judge Executive. He is a lifelong Jessamine County resident, a business owner and devoted father.  He has served our community for nearly 40 years.
Russ Meyer   has served Nicholasville and Jessamine County for many years.  In the past, he served as Mayor of Nicholasville and is currently the State Representative of the 39th district.
Sam Lee, serves as the community president for Jessamine County’s First Southern Bank.  He is from Stamping Ground, Kentucky and lives in Lexington.
Dr. Corey Hatfield, who holds dual board certifications in internal medicine and rheumatology.  He currently serves at the Arthritis Center of Lexington.
Polly and Eric West, Polly has been a nurse for 20 years and currently serves as the Atrial Fibrilation Nurse Navigator for Baptist Health.  Eric is a local businessman and is the owner of Nicholasville Tire and Service.
Sandy Adams  who has lived in this community all of her life. She owns four Zaxby’s located in  Nicholasville, Richmond, Danville and Frankfort.
Lee Faust, who grew up in Woodford County. He is a graduate of Johnson University and he is currently serving and leading as Pastor of Jessamine Christian Church.
