Ripley Flowers in Nicholasville prides itself on customer service

When asked what sets his floral business apart from others in Jessamine County, Tom Ripley, owner of Thomas Ripley Flowers, said customer service.
“We go the extra mile,” Tom said. “We always give 110 percent. When we promise our customers that something will be done at a certain time or in a certain way, we make sure that we deliver.”
Thomas Ripley Flowers is located at 1005 Park Central Ave. #B off US-27 near The Boot Store. They have been in business in that location for 15 years. Open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., the shop is currently closed Sunday.
Ripley Flowers is a family business. Tom’s daughter, Darcy Ripley, is the floral designer.
“Darcy does beautiful work,” Tom said. “Everyone tells me that not only are our prices reasonable, but that Darcy always thinks of things that they might never have imagined but which made their vision even better.”
Tom said the shop can handle everything from floral designs for weddings and receptions, funerals, arrangements for home décor and banquets.
“One of our largest clients is Asbury College,” Tom said. “They call us whenever they need flowers for banquets, speaking engagements, homecoming and alumni events. Darcy goes and sets everything up for them and goes back and takes it all down when they’re done.”
The shop, Tom said, offers free delivery in Jessamine County and will deliver outside of Lexington and surrounding counties for a small fee.
“I can’t say enough about our wonderful experience with Darcy doing our wedding this past weekend,” customer Cristie Logan Cerniglia said. “Darcy knows her stuff and her expertise was priceless. She listened, she looked at pictures we liked, and she helped us select options that worked in our budget. I was nervous we didn’t have a big enough budget to have a beautiful wedding, but it was so gorgeous!”
