Hogan West McKinney 81, widower of Ruth Ann Ruckman McKinney, of Handys Bend Road in Wilmore, Kentucky died Thursday, December 5, 2019 at The Willows at Citation in Lexington, Kentucky. He was born on August 3, 1938 in Irvine, Kentucky to the late R.B. McKinney and Emmer Morris McKinney. He was an Army Veteran and a retired brick mason who had worked for Boyle Masonry. Surviving Hogan is his daughter, Teresa (David) M. Morgan of Dallas, Texas and two grandsons, Sean David Morgan and Alec McKinney Morgan. Services were 11 a.m., Monday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Rev. Dwight Winter officiating. Visitation was Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Darrell Layne Squires, 56, husband of Michelle Grimes Squires, of Bellechase Lane, Nicholasville, passed away on Dec. 2, 2019. He was born in Jefferson County to the late Maxie and Louise Squires. He was employed by Greenix where he worked as a branch manager. He is survived by his wife Michelle, four sons, Jarrod, Aaron, Gregory and Dallas, a brother, Jamie Squires, a sister, Lynnea (Daniel) Cooper, seven grandchildren, Bradley, Brileigh, Oaklee, Kingston, Zeke, Zane and Koleton. A memorial service will be held 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, 2019 at Betts & West Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on the day of the service. Eugene Lowery, 82, husband of Nancy Lowery, of E. Brown St., Nicholasville, passed away Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019 at Baptist Health Lexington. He was born in Richmond, Kentucky on September 26, 1938 to the late Edward and Elizabeth Preston Lowery. He was owner of Chase Inc. and worked for the Fayette County School System. Additional survivors include two daughters, Becky Lowery Lemay and Heather Kelly Lowery, two sisters, Betty Clouse and Linda Pitts, five grandchildren, Raven (Daniel) Sowder, Jason Sparks, Chase Kelly, Kaylin Kelly and Kayleigh Kelly, five great-grandchildren, Alyssa Sowder, Madison Sowder, Dylan Sowder, Hayley Sparks and Alaina Sparks. Services will be noon Thursday, Dec. 12, 2019 at Betts & West Funeral Home with Allen Sparks officiating. Burial will follow in Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Oneida Dell Cassity

Oneida Dell Peel Cassity, 93, wife of almost 72 years to Welch H. Cassity, of Lexington, formerly of Nicholasville, passed away Monday, December 9, 2019. She was born February 27, 1926 to the late Morris and Ollie Peel and she was a retired teacher of the Fayette County School System. She was a worthy matron of the Eastern Star, Lodge 223, member of the Honorary Society of retired teachers for 25 years, served as Past President and was a member of the Alpha Delta Kappa, Mu Chapter. She is survived by her husband Welch and twin daughters, Lucia Ann and Marsha Ruth Cassity. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Lillian Gayhart, Lucian Peel, Valeria Lowery, Pauline Brooks and Mattie Peel. Graveside services were held 1 p.m. Wednesday at Maple Grove Cemetery with Rev. Craig Yates officiating. Betts & West Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.
