Back to Church Sunday, part of a national movement of churches across America, will be held on Sunday, Sept. 15 and Jessamine Christian Church in Nicholasville is inviting the community to celebrate the day with them during their 9 and/or 10:30 a.m. services.
Jessamine Christian Church is located at 130 Courchelle Drive in Nicholasville.
Since it started as a call to action and invitation for the church in 2009, the National Back to Church Sunday movement marks its 10th year and continues to gain momentum. It is a day focused on uniting the church to equip and empower members to be inviters. Eight out of ten people say they are open to visiting church if invited—they are just waiting for an invitation, Pastor Lee Faust said
“As we call one another back to church, we understand the invitation is not to a program or an event on the calendar,” Faust said. “I pray we desire to walk like Jesus and discover that we must involve one another. I read this past week an idea that speaks to this, which states that we best experience the presence of God together in the context of community. I believe that happens in part as we gather on the first day of the week, break bread together as family, and celebrate God’s faithfulness in our lives and a love that never fails.”
