Jessamine County Animal Care and Control will host its annual Barks & Rec event Saturday featuring activities for the whole community.
The annual Barks & Rec Day will be held at Riney B. Park, located on Martin Luther King Boulevard. in Nicholasville.
This special event is just one of the many community outreach projects that Jessamine County Animal Care & Control hosts throughout the year for its family companions.
This particular event not only helps raise funds to care for the many animals that come into the shelter, but also helps cover the cost for spay and neutering hundreds of community animals in Jessamine County.
The event has many family activities planned including a 3K Canine Canter Run/Walk, Dachshund Derby, Pooch Plunge, petting zoo, spin the wheel prizes, trivia, food, drinks, cotton candy, snow cones and many on-site vendors.
Along with Jessamine County Animal Care & Control, this event is sponsored by Jessamine County Parks and Rec and the presenting sponsorship from Animal Hospital of Nicholasville, as well as CareCredit, Champions Petfood, Feeders Supply, Hayden Mini-Stor Inc, Hillard and Lyons, Idexx Laboratories, Kentucky Kettlecorn, McKechnie Vehicle Components, Medivet Biologics, Merck, and The Prescription Pad.
