Good Health Fitness is committed to helping residents become healthy in order to feel their best and participate in the activities they love.
Located at 156 Imperial Way in Nicholasville, the fitness center is open 24 hours a day seven days a week and staffed Monday – Friday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday noon to 5 p.m. Memberships start at $10 a month. The facility offers free fitness training, group classes, tanning, Hydro Massage and Red-Light Therapy.
“I wanted to create a clean, affordable facility where members felt comfortable,” Owner Allison Alexander said.
The most popular membership is the G.H. Express, Alexander said, which includes all gym equipment, G.H. Lounge with tanning, red-light therapy, hydro massage and massage chairs. The silver membership includes 50 pieces of cardio equipment, free weights, selectorized equipment, 30-minute circuit, group classes, and free fitness training.
“Our services are designed to help members get started no matter their fitness level,” Alexander said. “We know everyone starts out at their own fitness level, and we are here to help you wherever you are starting with your fitness journey.”
Alexander said she stays motivated by so many of her members who have overcome challenges to reach their goals.
“After a foot injury, I have learned a variety of ways to modify or progress certain exercises, so I can continue doing what I love,” Alexander said. “Learning this has led me to helping others recover from their injuries and progressing their exercises, so they can keep doing what they enjoy too.”
After her injury, Alexander knew she wanted to pursue fitness as an industry.
“Fitness and exercise is more than just working out,” Alexander said. “It is about being healthy in order to feel your best and do the activities you love.”
Alexander pursued personal training with the National Academy of Sports Medicine where she became a NASM certified professional trainer and fitness nutrition specialist, so she could move forward in helping people of all fitness levels with exercise and nutrition.
Everyone is welcome at Good Health Fitness, Alexander said. No matter the fitness level, the staff strive to make customers welcome as soon as they walk in the door.
“I hope to reach as many people as possible in order help get them started with their fitness journey and feel their best,” Alexander said. “We hope Good Health Fitness encourages as many people as possible to get started, or progress with their fitness journey to improve their health. We want people to feel their best and feel like they belong here.”
