East pitchers combine to shutout Burgin

The East Jessamine Jaguars defeated Burgin 15-0 on Tuesday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout.
Colby Cox struck out David Lynn to finish off the game.
East secured the victory thanks to nine runs in the second inning. The offensive onslaught came from singles by JP Prince and Camron Thompson, a triple by Aaron Smith, by Prince, an error on a ball put in play by Cox, and a double by Jacob Farmer.
The Jaguars got on the board in the first inning when Smith doubled on a 0-2 count, scoring two runs.
East tallied nine runs in the second inning. The Jaguars put the pressure on, led by singles by Prince and Thompson, a triple by Smith, by Prince, an error on a ball put in play by Cox, and a double by Farmer.
A single by Jacob Qualls in the second inning was a positive for Burgin.
Tyler Stafford pitched East to victory. He went three and a third innings, allowing zero runs on two hits and striking out eight. Cox threw two-thirds of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Jackson Qualls took the loss for Burgin. He allowed seven hits and ten runs over one and one-third innings, striking out one and walking one.
East racked up 13 hits in the game. Thompson, Smith, Farmer, Prince, and Kade Greathouse each managed multiple hits. Greathouse, Prince, Farmer, Smith, and Thompson each collected two hits to lead the team. East was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Greathouse made the most plays with 11.

East Jessamine drops close game to Madison Southern after late score
The East Jessamine Jaguars stayed in it until the end, but Madison Southern pulled away late in a 7-5 victory on Monday.
The game was tied at five with Madison Southern batting in the bottom of the sixth when Kruise Newman singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
Madison Southern fired up the offense in the first inning. Camron Thompson threw a wild pitch allowing one run across the plate for Madison Southern.
Madison Southern evened things up at five in the bottom of the fifth inning. Madison Southern scored two runs when Austin Banks singled.
Madison Southern scored three runs in the fifth inning. Madison Southern’s big inning was driven by singles by Broc Parmer and Banks.
Corey Causey was the winning pitcher for Madison Southern. He allowed five hits and five runs over three and a third innings, striking out three. Michael Bannister threw three and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen. Bannister recorded the last 11 outs to earn the save for Madison Southern.
Brandon Ihle took the loss for the Jaguars. He lasted one inning, allowing two hits and two runs while walking one.
Thompson started the game for East. He surrendered one run on one hit over two innings, striking out three
East tallied seven hits on the day. Colby Cox and Jacob Farmer all managed multiple hits. Farmer and Cox all had two hits to lead the Jaguars.
Parmer led Madison Southern with two hits in four at bats.

Ballard almost erases 6-run deficit in loss to West Jessamine Colts
The West Jessamine Colts got out to a six-run lead in the second inning and held on for a 6-5 victory over Ballard on Saturday.
Ballard managed five runs in the failed comeback. Kaelon Harkema, Lysher, Brandon Schmitt, and Ben Collins came through with RBIs to lead the rally.
The West Jessamine Colts fired up the offense in the first inning, when Nathaniel Frank’s sac fly scored one run.
The Colts tallied three runs in the second inning. Nick Lee, Nathan Skipworth, and Preston Howard all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
Skipworth took the win for West. He surrendered two runs on five hits over four innings, striking out one. Will Stephens and Frank entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Frank recorded the last two outs to earn the save for West.
Hunter Mathes took the loss for Ballard. He allowed nine hits and six runs over four innings, striking out three and walking one.
West Jessamine Colts Varsity totaled 14 hits in the game. Jackson Green, Howard, Hunter Peel, Landry Byrd, and Skipworth each managed multiple hits for West Jessamine Colts Varsity. Skipworth, Byrd, Peel, Howard, and Green each collected two hits to lead West Jessamine.

Early lead For Bullitt East seals fate for East Jessamine Jaguars Varsity
The Jaguars fell behind early and couldn’t come back in an 8-2 loss to Bullitt East on Wednesday.
Bullitt East scored on a sacrifice fly by Harrison Vereb in the first inning and a double by Garret Simpson in the second inning.
East struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Bullitt East, giving up eight runs.
Bullitt got things moving in the first inning, when Vereb’s sac fly scored one run.
Bryant Miles was the winning pitcher for Bullitt. He went five innings, allowing two runs on two hits, striking out ten and walking one. Brock Hammond threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Josh Schubert took the loss for East Jessamine. He allowed five hits and four runs over two innings.
The Jaguars tallied one home run on the day. Aaron Smith went for the long ball in the fifth inning.
Logan Woolums and Smith each managed one hit to lead the East Jessamine Jaguars.
