Jessamine County Public Library announces its annual Summer Preview Party from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 19, in the main library at JCPL, located at 600 S. Main St. in Nicholasville.
This event is open to the entire community and there is no charge to attend. The public is invited to kick off JCPL’s 2019 Summer Learning Program, “A Universe of Stories.”
“We host the Summer Learning Preview Party each May to get people excited about the upcoming Summer Learning program in June and July,” said Kelly Little, JCPL’s community relations and marketing coordinator. “It’s also an opportunity to give people copies of the Summer Learning calendar, reading logs and other summer information.”
The event will feature a Euro bungee, pony rides, a petting zoo, an inflatable slide, a climbing tower, the KY Science Center Live music by The Local Honeys from 2 to 4 p.m., Summer Learning Info, and food vendors such as Drake’s Food Truck and Snowy Ice. There will also be an opportunity for attendees to win door prizes.
“People should join us because it’s a fun, all ages event and there is no charge to come participate,” Little said. “Also, it’s a great opportunity to come find out about all the programs and services the library offers as well as ask questions about how Summer Learning works. We will be giving away a few door prizes donated by Shaker Village as well as a prize pack with fun, summer items in it. You can enter to win one of these prizes at our information table inside the library during the preview party.”
This event will happen rain or shine. If there is inclement weather some outside activities might be canceled.
