Danville man arrested for methamphetamine
Kenneth John Kirilenko, 60, of 746 Ben Ali Drive Apt. 105 in Danville, was arrested March 23 for possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and promoting contraband, according to a citation issued by the Nicholasville Police Department.
Kirilenko was placed under arrest for driving under the influence. Upon leaving the Jessamine County Detention Center, where Kirilenko had been placed sitting in the back seat of the police cruiser, the officer discovered a small plastic baggie yielding an unidentified crystalized substance underneath the backseat. The officer allegedly had conducted frequent searches of the patrol vehicle to make sure it is free of any substance, according to the citation.
Kirilenko was further charged with the above charges after entering the detention center.

Nicholasville woman arrested for heroin
Sara Marie Ruminski, 26, of 120 Susan Trace in Nicholasville, was arrested March 18 for possession of a controlled substance (heroin) and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a citation released by the Nicholasville Police Department.
Officers were dispatched to 995 S. Main St. in reference to suspicious activity in the Kroger parking lot. The caller had advised an older white van was possibly involved in a drug deal.
When officers arrived and made contact with the occupants of the van, cut straws and a spoon was observed on the floor board of the vehicle. The operator of the vehicle gave officers consent to search.
Ruminski was the front passenger in the vehicle and gave officers permission to search her purse. Inside her purse, officers allegedly found a one dollar bill loose with suspected heroin residue inside. One gram of suspected heroin was located inside a receipt located in a container for wet wipes inside Ruminski’s purse as well.
Ruminski was arrested and transported to the Jessamine County Detention Center, according to the citation.

Lexington woman arrested for DUI
Jessica C. Helton, 38, of 2088 Twain Ridge Drive in Lexington, was arrested March 18 for operating on a suspended or revoked license and DUI, according to a citation released by the Nicholasville Police Department.
A vehicle was observed by NPD driving down Main Street and swerving into the opposite lane of traffic. A traffic stop was initiated at East Chestnut and Green Street. When the vehicle was stopped, Helton allegedly immediately tried to exit the vehicle and was told to sit back inside by officers.
Helton was described as having pin point pupils and slurred and labored speech. While speaking with Helton, she allegedly began to nod off, according to the citation.
Helton was asked to step out of the vehicle and was described as off balance with labored movements. At one point, she put her hand on the car to balance herself, according to the citation.
A field sobriety test was performed which Helton allegedly started to nod off through and closed her eyes. Helton was placed under arrest and transported to St. Joseph Jessamine for a blood sample. While en route to the hospital, Helton continued to nod off on several occasions, according to the citation.
After being read her Miranda rights, Helton greed to speak with officers and informed them she had used heroin prior to the officer stopping her and showed the officer fresh track marks on her arm.
After giving a blood sample at St. Joseph Jessamine, Helton was transported to the Jessamine County Detention Center, according to the citation.

Man arrested for methamphetamine
Timothy Sparks, 26, homeless, was arrested March 23 for theft of identity of another without consent, and possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), according to a citation released by the Nicholasville Police Department.
Officers responded to the area of the Speedway at Barnes in reference to a shoplifter. Officers observed Sparks running toward the area of Rock Fence Park. After making contact with Sparks, he gave the officers false identifying information. He was placed under arrest at which point officers discovered a baggie containing a white crystalized substance and two smaller items wrapped in paper.
Sparks was read his Mirand rights, which he waived, and told the officers the substance was methamphetamine and the other two items were “fake.”
Sparks was transported to the Jessamine County Detention Center, according to the citation.
