Spring Jessamine Life is now available

Since I have been at the Jessamine Journal, I cannot count how many times we have received compliments on our quarterly magazine, Jessamine Life.
While we certainly appreciate the feedback, the pleasure is all ours as we are constantly in awe of the residents we meet and the stories we have the pleasure of highlighting for the community.
This week, we received our spring magazine in the office. I encourage everyone to stop by the office and pick one up if you did not receive one in your mailbox.
For those of you who are not aware, we are located at 507 N. Main St. Recently, the building has been for sale. Although it was purchased, we are not going anywhere and will continue to put out the magazine and newspaper from our current location for the foreseeable future.
Clay’s Barbershop in Wilmore is featured as our cover this spring. Cutting hair and serving the community for 60 years is no small feat. Clay’s story makes a great read, as I am sure many in the community know him well.
The new Family Tree Café is featured as well. Striving to offer a place in the community where families of children with special needs can feel welcome, Nina and Brian Vail serve a variety of food many people in the community are already talking about. Make sure to read their story and stop by to try a new local restaurant the next chance you get.
We also feature pictures from the Chamber of Commerce’s annual dinner which was a masquerade theme this year. Bethany Davis tells us all what she loves most about Jessamine Life, and staple features like Living Well and In Faith feature columns from local residents in the community.
There is also a feature on High Bridge for its storage facility and bottled water. A new high-tech gym facility in town is also featured, Good Health Fitness, which caters to both male and female of all ages.
We also talked with James Logsdon, a resident who has overcome many obstacles in his life and was diagnosed with a mild case of cerebral palsy. Logsdon has since gone on to win multiple powerlifting competitions. His goal is to inspire others to not give up.
An East High senior, Madalyn Gannon, was featured for her work as an artist with the EJHS theatre department. Having her sight set on the big lights of Broadway, Gannon wishes to pursue a career in theatre after she graduates.
Make sure and pick up the magazine to see what Autumn and Company in Wilmore has to offer for the next time you are out and about on a shopping trip.
Up until now, we have been offering the magazine free to the community. This is our last free issue, and to subscribe, readers will find a subscription card immediately after opening the front cover.
We hope the community continues to read and enjoy the magazine as we continue to strive to put out what we hope is a great product.
Thanks for reading!
