Bryan Station Chapter NSDAR met on March 6 at the Equestrian Woods Clubhouse in Nicholasville, Kentucky. The program featured Dr. Ron Bryant, noted historian. He spoke about Ward Hall, a mansion located in Georgetown, Kentucky, that was completed in 1857. The grandest Greek revival residence in Kentucky, Ward Hall was built at a cost of $50,000 in gold. He described Sallie Ward, born into the Southern aristocracy, who became a socialite in New Orleans and Louisville.  According to Bryant, she was one of the first women to wear cosmetics and was known for wearing daring outfits. Dr. Bryant is president of the Ward Hall Preservation Foundation. Shown in the photo are, from left to right, Regent Susan Combs, Dr. Ron Bryant, member Jane Bryant, and Vice Regent Helen Warnecke.
