West tops East in 45th district opener

The Colts and Jaguars battled every minute of the game in the opener to the 45th District Boys Basketball Tournament, but in the end West came out on top, 65-54. Dalton Bruner led scoring with nineteen points, while DeAjuan Stepp had eleven points and Yallen Woods finished with nine.
This win for the Colts also puts their record vs. East at 2-1 for the year, as they split their match-ups during the regular season.
West Jessamine moves on to face Mercer County (18-10) on Thursday night at Burgin High School for the 45th District Championship, Game time is 6:30pm.
