Board of education elects new board chairperson, vice chairperson

The Jessamine County Board of Education held its first meeting of the new year Monday where members of the board voted to elect a new board chairperson and vice chairperson to serve a two-year term. After nominating newly elected board member Steve Scrivner to replace Amy Day as board chairperson, Scrivner was awarded the position with a unanimous vote from members of the board, which include Denise Adams, Amy Day, Debbie Hood and Bobby Welch. Denise Adams was also elected to serve as the new vice chairperson for the board of education.
