The family also participated in a service event Dec. 22.

“We are honored to partner with the Community Service Center to ensure more families are able to put food

on their tables this holiday season,” Brett Setzer said. “My wife Billie Jo and I are always looking for meaningful ways we can give back to this great community we call home and where we are raising our family.”

For the past five years, the Setzers have personally coordinated and supported a food drive during the holiday season to benefit a local community agency.

This year’s recipient was the Community Service Center of Wilmore and High Bridge.

The Community Service Center was established in 1985 to provide clothing to families in need and has expanded to include budgeting and emergency financial assistance, including assistance with utilities, food, shelter, household goods and clothing.

The Community Service Center’s mission is to identify needs within the community, to organize resources and to develop programs to address those needs through their Thrift Shop and Needs Assistance program.

The Thrift Shop offers a large selection of clothing, books, household items and small furniture items for sale at reduced prices.

Proceeds from the Thrift Shop help support the Needs Assistance Program, which offers assistance with utility payments (water, gas or electric), housing and rental payments, clothing (related to fire, flood, unexpected relocation), food pantry and limited counsel on accessing other resources within Wilmore, Jessamine County or the Lexington area.

The Setzers, along with their five daughters, are long-time residents and supporters of Jessamine County.

Brett owns and operates two businesses headquartered in Central Kentucky — Brett Construction Company, a commercial construction company with more than 30 years of experience, and Setzer Properties, a national real estate investment and development firm with more than 28 years of experience.
