Pearl Calvert

Jan. 31, 1927 – Nov. 27, 2018

Pearl Mae Seals Calvert, 91, widow of Luther Howard Calvert Sr., of Lancaster, Kentucky and formerly of Odessa, Texas died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018 at the Danville Center for Health and Rehabilitation.

She was born on Jan. 31, 1927 in Winters, Texas to the late Charles Henry Seals and Ollie Cummins Seals.

She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who was strong and loved her family very much.

She was retired from the First National Bank in Odessa and later volunteered as a Pink Lady at the Medical Center there.

Pearl is survived by a granddaughter, Jamie Dee Davis, three great grandchildren, Dustin Allen Calvert, Cyndi L. Davis and Cayden T. Davis, and a sister Lavada Haupt.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Andrews Ogilvy, a son, Luther “Sonny” Howard Calvert Jr. and two grandchildren, Michelle Calvert and Michael Calvert.

Services will be 1 p.m., Saturday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Buford officiating.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service.

It was Mrs. Calvert’s wishes to be cremated and have her ashes interred in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Odessa Texas.

Gerry L. Wyrick

July 2, 1941 – Nov. 21, 2018

Gerry L. Wyrick, 77, passed away peacefully on Nov. 21, 2018 after a courageous battle with brain cancer.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years James “Jim” Wyrick, son Mike, daughter-in-law Darby, grandsons Dylan and Noah. Also, her loving sister Rosemary (Rodney) Parsons.

A native of Pineville, Kentucky, Gerry was born in 1941 to the late Larkin and Doris Douglas.

A graduate of Bell County High School, she attended Cumberland College and Good Samaritan School of Nursing.

She also proudly served as a board member of the Kentucky Mountain Laurel Festival for many years.

She was a longtime member of Southern Hills United Methodist Church.

Funeral service will be held at Southern Hills United Methodist Church on Tuesday, Nov. 27 at 11 a.m. officiated by Dr. Bill Moore and Rev. Eric Hughes.

Visitation at the church on Monday, Nov. 26 from 4 to 7 p.m. and prior to the service at 10 a.m.

Mary Beth Day

Oct. 27, 1988 – Oct. 28, 2018

Mary Beth Day, 30, passed away from this life on earth on the morning of Oct. 28, 2019 unexpectedly.

She was born Oct. 27, 1988 to Sharon Berqer Lay and Thomas Day.

Mary Beth was a resident of Nicholasville, Kentucky.

She had a special sense of humor and smile that will dearly be missed by many.

She was a loving mother, sister, daughter, granddaughter and friend.

She loved her family and children unconditionally.

She was survived by her mother Sharon Lay, her father Thomas Day and step mother Michelle Day. She will be forever in their hearts and memories. Four children Cayden, Cayleigh, Cayla, and Mason. Her grandmothers, Mary Mahan and Juanita Harper. She was survived by four siblings, Matthew and Aric Day, Rachael and Lyndsey Lay.

She was proceeded in death by her grandfathers Chuck Mahan, Jim Day, and Scott Harper and a great grandmother, Marie Hunter.

A Remembrance Service will be held on Nov. 29, 2018 at the Catalyst Church on First Street in Nicholasville, Kentucky on Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. for family and friends.

Charlotte S. Lamb

Jan. 27, 1919 – Nov. 21, 2018

Charlotte S. Lamb, 99, formerly of Wilmore, Kentucky, passed away on Nov. 21, 2018. Born on Jan. 27, 1919 in Harrodsburg, Kentucky to the late Charles and Nancy Smith.

She is survived by two daughters, Jacqueline Penn Underwood and Virginia Gaye Lamb Brown of Lexington; three grandchildren, Stefani Whalen (James) Davis, Whitney Underwood (Brent) Humes and Tyler Underwood all of Louisville; four great-grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Henehan, Jeremy and Ashley Nicole Henehan and Austin Davis all of Louisville.
